Tom has a deep respect and admiration for the ocean which he has gained from a lifetime in the water, this you can see in his photography. His passion for capturing the raw beauty of the ocean above and underwater lead to Tom seeking more watermanship experiences through travelling around the world chasing the best swells in the most remote places possible whilst furthering his knowledge and skills through the One Ocean education system.
Tom has been tested and overcome many challenges in the ocean through his life and this shows in his amazing teaching ability, students often comment on his patience and methodical teaching practice enabling Tom to get into the students mind, focus on the students strengths and coach them effectively through all the elements of watermanship.
Tom has proven an invaluable asset to the One Ocean International team!

Skeeta... a super passionate ocean explorer, waterman, One Ocean Advanced Waterman Course Finisher and all round legend! Spend a bit of time with Skeeta and you are soon infected by his passion for the great ocean adventure!
Skeeta has been ripping waves since a micro grommet and the ambitious Victorian waterman continues to blow minds with his solid surfing style.
Through Skeetas adventures chasing huge waves around the world comes a solid respect for the environment, a deep seeded righteousness that keeps Skeeta being an amazing example of how surfers should treat each other and this amazing environment in which we spend so much of our time.
Skeeta has been through all the ups and downs that a true waterman experiences from the heaviest wipeout of his life at cow bombie to a trip around the globe chasing the best that the ocean can offer, scoring the biggest and best waves of his life! These experiences have moulded Skeeta's character into that of a true gentleman.
We are so stoked to have Skeeta as part of the One Ocean International team!

Shanan was born in Esperance in 1978, the most south eastern coastal town of Western Australia. He commenced surfing, fishing and spearfishing at the early age of 6 and quickly discovered his deep passion for the ocean.
Due to this growing passion at the age of 17 he began to steer his career towards the ocean. He officially started as an abalone diver/deck hand and continues to commercially dive to this day.
Whilst Abalone Diving out of Esperance Shanan was the first line of first aid, and the first responder in the rescue of a fellow Abalone Diver who was attacked by a great white shark in 2013. Shanan himself has been exposed to many sharks and has had to defend himself against attack multiple times.
Whilst Shanan has spent 21 years working in and around the ocean, when not working, his recreational activities have revolved around surfing, diving and fishing.
Shanan has a passion for sharing information with others that will make their ocean experience safe and extremely enjoyable! His ability to help others move through mental blocks is impressive!

Russell craves adventure and the discovery of the untouched/unseen wilderness. This lust for life and adventure really shows in his training, you can't help but be infected by this urge to learn, adapt, explore and experience!
Russell first participated in a One Ocean International Advanced Watermanship Program from the 11th - 13th Feb 2014. Russell has spent his whole life in the ocean and to date is one of Australia's leading waterman, so it was no surprise that he excelled in the training showing great potential for instructor training.
Russell then participated in all the watermanship programs run in WA during the 2015 season as a student and observer which put him in an excellent position for instructor training in the 2016 season.
Russell being an ex professional fireman with 20 years experience has the perfect pre training necessary for excelling in watermanship, these being:
- Situational Awareness
- Fear Management
- Emergency Management
- Medical Training
Apart from this Russell is one of the worlds leading surf photographers specialising in waves of consequence.
He also was awarded K38 Heavy Water Awardfor saving Jacob Trette whilst surfing Mavrics in 2011.

Anthony was literally raised surrounded by Melanesian Watermen, as a result of his upbringing in remote Papua New Guinea. This unique upbringing has resulted in a very generous, simple living, humble, disciplined and positive attitude which you can see in Anthony just by being in his company.
This attitude has assisted Anthony in excelling in many watermanship fields including lifesaving, competitive still water kayaking and ocean paddling. "I spent hours paddling in open water with only yourself to fall back on, i found it quiet and very meditative with a strong focus on your surroundings". Anthony Superina
Apart from Anthony’s array of watermanship skills (and i must say that there is not much that he has not experienced) his major passion is windsports, mainly windsurfing which he has done most of his life, this he said, has moulded him into the waterman he is today. He travelled the world chasing the wind and had a career as a windsurfing instructor at one point.
When Anthony came to One Ocean International in 2012 his body had told him that he could no longer windsurf at that point in time, so he decided to discover more of the underwater world through freediving. Anthony’s upbringing and waterman history served him well through his years of freediving training as he adapted to it like a newly born cetacean.
To this day Anthony has a strict yoga practice, trains most days of the week and has a deep passion for sharing his in-depth knowledge of the body, the ocean and the adaption of the former to the latter. If anyone needs a freediving training partner you know that Anthony will always be frothing to get amongst it.
Anthony also has two amazing boys which are, with out a doubt the most important thing is his world, the lessons that he learned bringing up his two amazing young men has made him the most experienced and calmest instructor in running the water grommets and basic watermanship programs offered through One Ocean.
Anyone who studies the art of watermanship with Anthony is a truly lucky individual.
We at One Ocean are very lucky to have him as part of the team.
“The people, the ocean, the self challenge is addictive and so very rewarding. I’m excited about being part of the One Ocean team and look forward to spending time in the water with you”. Anthony Superina

Being in the ocean frees Alana’s soul. Starting surfing at an early age, she has been a water-baby her whole life with surfing, freediving, scuba diving and open water swimming keeping her in or on the water.
Alana has her own business, Sweet Lemon Design, focusing on design and brand strategy, which is based on Australia’s Gold Coast. She grew up in Durban, South Africa and after graduating in both Marketing (IMM) and Graphic Design worked as a designer for Billabong in Jeffrey’s Bay, one of international surfing’s hot spots. She then moved to Durban to take over as Head of Marketing for Ripcurl.
Alana has a passion for travel and is a certified freediving instructor through Pure Apnea with an uncanny ability to enthuse others with her love for the ocean. She is Branding and Design Manager for I am Water Trust and has conducted workshops for the Trust internationally.
Teaching freediving on the Gold coast enables her to create ocean awareness and promote ocean conservation while sharing the joy of freediving.
